<p>I have been on Instagram over a year now and when I started, I began with canid pics of me going out, but I also have ones in which I post clothing and jewelry. One of the very first pics I uploaded exactly 54 weeks ago was one of some statement necklaces I had purchased at my job.
The volunteer department has a sale twice a year and they have all kinds of costume jewelry that you find in Macys, Penneys, and Kohls. I have a thing for jewlery of all kinds. I often joke and tell my coworkers I will be ok at 98 in the nursing home as long as the nursing staff puts on my cheetah print earrings, necklaces and red lipstick. I can honestly say that this love of larger size necklaces came from my 88 year old Gamma (grandma). This lady to this day when going out has to put on her double strand pearls or big necklaces. And they always make a statement with her outfits.
So, statement necklaces, what are they? And, how are they to be worn? A statement piece as I call them is an article of clothing or jewlery that completes or just makes the overall ensemble stand out. You know, gives some moxie, or adds some panache to the outfit. I feel that you can wear them anyway you want. You can layer them with other necklaces or even on top of scarves. I am always constantly on the prowl for items to add to my wardrobe to accessorize my look. And now, I have noticed that statement pieces have taken over instagram, which is awesome. The power of social media has taken our fashion lives to a whole different level. It has opened up so many women to not being afraid to explore the possibilities with fashion. However, it can lure you into buying very expensive trendy items. So, buyer beware... Check on sites such as Etsy or Ebay or even go thrifting for these items if you don't want to spend $120 on the pricey name brands. After all, only you know how much you spent. Right?
Till next time my lovelies.....xoxoxoxo</u></p>

All About The Benjamins
Ok.... My name is GlmrGrl98, and I like to shop... First step is admitting I have a problem... No, really I DONT have a shopping problem. I like to shop, but what I like even more is saving money.
No, really, do you ever think about saving money and putting it into an account that will grow your money? And what do you teach children about money and saving?
I am open with my children about money and how their relationship with it can shape their future as adults.
When they are given money as gifts from family or my husband or myself, I encourage them to save. They each have a bank account and they can put half of the money into the account, no matter how big or small.I tell them this is a way of paying themselves first. Then they can use the rest of the money for whatever they want.
Another idea is to have them do the monthly bills with you. This shows them the expenditures that occur every month.
Sacrifice something in the household.... No, not the family pet.!!.. But something like cable tv. We have not had satellite/cable tv in almost 3 yrs. And guess what? They dont miss it!! And I save almost $150 per month!! So, Im not trying to tell anyone what or how to run their household. Im just giving suggestions on how you can be resourceful so that when you do decide to purchase a high ticket item, (ie: that Louis Vuitton Neverfull MM bag), then the funds are there at your disposal. This also helps to grow a generation of financially responsible adults.
Till next time my lovelies! Xoxo
Thifty Finds
Pardon my adult ADD rant, but ANYWAY, I came across two really cute tops with tags that I had scored at my local Goodwill LAST SPRING! Uh Huh, you heard me right, Goodwill baby all day long.
Goodwill and thrift stores are places that people sometimes overlook when shopping for fashionable items. If you are looking for vintage and or unique pieces, thrifting is the thing to do and I have been doing it a for a while now. I also donate my clothes and my childrens clothes to thrift stores. After all, one lady's past season items are another lady's couture...
The tops that I purchased were $5 each and they were NEW from Target!! I dont know if any of you guys know this but, Target and Goodwill are affiliates with each other. So, whatever Target doesn't sell to regular customers, they sell to Goodwill. It is kind of hit or miss though. But hey, you never know what you may run across in a thrift store.

Striving For A Helathier Me
Being a healthcare professional, I am well aware that genetics play a role in our well being, and environmental factors BUT our free will plays a major role also. So, what we eat, how active we are and what we do to care for our bodies help us along the way in life.
I went shopping the other day, and I grabbed a bag of kale, frozen pineapples and berries and some almond milk. Threw those items in the blender and I was quite surprised with what I got. A nice smoothie that is full of vitamins!! Try it, you too may be surprised. Till next time! xoxo

Shop Your Closet!!
Anyway, over the weekend I did inventory on some of my social networking sites.. The one thing I did was reorganize my fashion board on Pinterest. My one catch all board was Style Maven. On this board, I put stuff I have, want or lust after. So, after going through all of my pins, I noticed that I OWN a lot of outfits on this board. What did I do? I created a NEW board named Shop My Closet, in which I take the outfits that are pinned that look a lot like what I have in my closet. It gives me a visual of what I own and it also gives me an idea of how to remix the items.
I think I have stated before that I can be all over the place with my style and fashion sense, so this kind of adds a little order to my life. Well, at least in my mind it does... so let's take a peek in to my Shop My Closet Board..... http://pinterest.com/msspoon98/shop-my-closet/

I'm In a Spring State of Mind
Now, that the formalities are out of the way, I can talk about my Spring fashion haul. As you know, well, if you didn't know mint green and peachy coral are two of the Pantone color selections for the year. So, let me say I have been going a little overboard in purchasing those colors. Another trend is cropped tops and florals. I never was one for flowers, but I have found some tasteful pieces. In my opinion, I think they are cute.
I went to Kohls about a week ago, and walked the store for a couple hours and they had one of those door buster sales and lowered prices on everything!!! AND I had a 15% off coupon AND a $5 off coupon!!!The delight and joy I experienced can't be explained in mere words. I purchased 14 items, 3 tanks, 2 cropped tops, 1 long sleeve top, 1 peplum top, 5 classic tees, 1 blazer and a belt. All of these items are currently at Kohls and can be found in store or on the website at Kohls.com
Enough of my chatter, take a look at what I got.

White I Wore (What I Wore)
I had to run some errands and take my son to a birthday party today. So, because I knew I would be hanging out at the party for a bit, I decided to put on something comfy, yet cute. I love crisp white items. I am one who does not conform to 'seasonal rules'. I will rock white ANYTIME I want! (Disclaimer: Im just putting it out there for future posts.) So, I deciced to wear all white with a colorblock sweater. The white jeans are a closet remix. The tank and sweater are available from Kohls now priced at $12.99 and $12 both on sale and clearance!!! I accessorized with a statement necklace from Macys and paired my patent leather flats and Michael Kors bag to complete my ensemble. Lets take a look...... So
